Dr. Scott Jensen Announces 2026 Campaign for Governor of Minnesota

“We want our Minnesota back.”

CHASKA, MN — Today, Dr. Scott Jensen officially announced his candidacy for Governor of Minnesota, pledging to restore the values, safety, and opportunity that once made Minnesota a national model for prosperity and fairness.

“Minnesotans want their state back,” said Jensen. “We remember the days when our communities were safe, our schools were strong, and our leaders put people—not politics—first. That’s the Minnesota we’re going to fight to bring back.”

Dr. Jensen, a family physician, former State Senator, and lifelong Minnesotan, is entering the 2026 race with a vision rooted in common sense, integrity, and service. Citing rising crime, failing schools, and a business climate that pushes innovation out of state, Jensen declared that Minnesotans are right to ask, “Is this the Minnesota we remember?”

In his announcement, Jensen emphasized a return to core principles:

• Safe Communities: Rebuilding law enforcement support and restoring public safety across every city and town.
• Educational Excellence: Getting politics out of the classroom and refocusing on reading, math, and critical thinking.
• Economic Freedom: Cutting red tape, lowering taxes, and empowering small businesses to thrive again.

Jensen reflected on the Minnesota that shaped his values—where neighbors looked out for one another, hard work paid off, and families felt hopeful about the future. “I will govern with transparency, integrity, and relentless optimism,” he said. “I’ll listen to Minnesotans, not special interests. It’s time to heal our divisions, protect our rural heritage, and revitalize our cities.”

The campaign launch marks Jensen’s return to the gubernatorial race, following his 2022 campaign that galvanized voters across the political spectrum to donate and volunteer at record-setting levels.  With 2026 on the horizon, he’s calling on Minnesotans to join him in a movement to reclaim the spirit, strength, and promise of the North Star State.

“Enough is enough,” Jensen said. “Together, we can restore Minnesota—and we will.”
